ARCADIA, Calif. (April 21, 2017)–Next to last three furlongs from home, longshot Prince of Arabia worked his way through traffic, swung two-wide at the top of the stretch and overhauled favored Klondike Creek close home to take Friday's $56,000 allowance feature at Santa Anita by 1¼ lengths under Santiago Gonzalez. Owned by Deron Pearson's DP Racing, Prince of Arabia negotiated a mile and one half on turf in 2:25.32.

"He's definitely improving," said Cassidy. "Deron will be really happy with this because he's been wanting us to take him off the pace, but this horse has been so difficult…We've had him near the lead in his last two races just to get him into the race (mentally)."
